A few more on this one...

And...

Publisher wanted to see how some of these design could work throughout the series...

Again, more commercial need driving this design than anything else... pleasant? Maybe. Does it look like everything else in this category? Hell yes!

The publisher had me work up this idea as something they feel will work for this. Since I am not a viewer of the show nor a fan, I trust this is something fan's will react to. I have successfully avoided using film strips in my career. Not today;)

Title change...

Previously called The Recognized. I will miss the subtle reference the old title had in conjunction with my design. This new title seems to basically say what you're seeing: Pictures of the dead... Oh well. It's for a young adult market. Perhaps it is better to be more blunt.

author and publisher responded well to this one so far...
I started this series design some time back. It evolved considerably (1,2,3 and many more) and then ended in this:

These are a proposed continuation of the series. This time it's stories from WWII. A few variations to show the client how the theme can be slightly altered and still maintain the general series look.

After some back and forth, the request was for something more mainstream... this is part of a series so...

Vladimir Nabokov Redesigns from Vintage Books

I often don't blog about other stuff out there unless it's absolutely necessary. And this is one of those times.

Due to come out in batches this November, these delightfully designed (by like designers who matter) Nabokov's make me want to cry. They are truly beautiful in every way. they break all trends and settle up as probably the best iterations of the mans work thus far. Enough said. Buy them promptly when they hit the shelves. I know I am...

These may or may not be final designs, but they are beautiful nonetheless...

What will Lolita look like???:
